Rich Tomato Soup or Tamatar Shorba..!!

Also known as tamatar shorba, the tomato soup is a perfect combination of spices and cooked tomatoes. This is an ideal soup to serve to your family in winters. This tomato soup recipe will hardly take your 30 minute or 35 minutes.

Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Tejpatta
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Black pepper
  • Maida
  • Tomato puree (optional)
  • Fresh cream
  • Salt
  • Bread croutons

Recipe:

  1. Cook tomatoes in 1 cup water in a pan
  2. Add black peppercorns and Tejpatta (bayleaf)
  3. After 8 or10 minutes, remove the Tejpatta and let the mixture cool
  4. Now, blend the whole mixture and strain it properly
  5. Take a pan and put some butter in it
  6. Add maida (plain flour) and sauté it for about 60 seconds
  7. In the same pan, add tomato puree (if you want), a cup of water and blended tomato mixture
  8. Let it cook for 1 minute
  9. Add pepper, salt, sugar and fresh cream. Cook for some time

Serve hot with bread croutons or basil leaves and fresh cream
